Join the Yellow Farmhouse Education Center for a group discussion of Jessica B. Harris’ New York Times best-selling narrative history High on the Hog: A Culinary Journey from Africa to America, which among many topics covers the story of Thomas Downing, the historic “oyster king” of New York. Over the course of three weeks, we will gather virtually to unpack the messages and stories from her work. We will provide discussion questions in advance to guide our conversation as we build toward further explorations of oysters in the American culinary landscape.
