Description
Hilary Emerson, Assistant Teaching Professor and Coordinator of Italian at the University of Rhode Island.will present a lecture including a brief presentation followed by a screening of ?Lina Mangiacapre: Artista del femminismo?* [Lina Mangiacapre: Artist of Feminism], a 40-minute docufilm by Nadia Pizzuti. Pizzuti provides an artistic glimpse into the art, philosophy, and lives of Lina Mangiacapre and her fellow avant-garde artists in Naples. The film folds together varied audiovisual material, including: clips from Mangiacapre's short and feature films, manifestos, interviews, photography, painting, poetry, and more.
Co-hosted by the Westerly Dante Society and the Westerly Library.
