An accomplished, award-winning and highly regarded artist and beloved Lyme/Old Lyme art instructor, Stonington native Lee Dadalt (1948-2007) seldom exhibited or sold his work during his lifetime. Instead, he kept most of his work in a private collection and occasionally gifted art to family members or special friends. He found endless artistic inspiration in the landscapes and seascapes of southeastern Connecticut, near where he grew up in Mystic. The Stonington fishing fleet was among his favorite subjects, and it features prominently in many of his paintings. While watercolor was a favorite medium, Lee was also prolific in a broad range of media beyond paint, including pencil, woodcuts, pottery, and more. This exhibit, compiled by Lee’s sister and brother-in-law Denise and Steve McGuire, shows the broad spectrum of his talent.
Exhibit opening Friday, May 10, 5-7pm. Open to the public. Suggested donation $5.
Exhibit will be on display through June 28.
