The United Theatre presents Peter Shapiro in conversation with Dean Budnick (Author Talk and Q&A) moderated by Michael McDonald of Mick Management. Peter Shapiro is a club owner, concert promoter, filmmaker, magazine publisher, and entrepreneur from New York City. He is widely known as the promoter for Fare Thee Well: Celebrating 50 Years of the Grateful Dead. Now, Peter Shapiro shares in his debut novel, The Music Never Stops: What Putting on 10,000 Shows Has Taught Me About Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Magic, a personal musical odyssey of how he became a power-house in the music industry. Joining him is co-author and Relix Magazine editor, Dean Budnick, on recounting what it was like to work with some of the most celebrated bands in modern music, including not just the Grateful Dead and U2, but also Bob Dylan, Phish, Dave Matthews Band, Al Green, Ms. Lauryn Hill, The Roots, Robert Plant, Leonard Cohen, and many more.
